If you’ve been considering becoming an HEC-C but are unable to take the exam at a testing center, you’re only a few steps away from earning your credential remotely.

1. Submit your HEC-C application

Your complete application must be submitted and accepted before you can schedule your HEC-C exam.

2. Schedule your exam appointment with a live remote proctor

After your application is accepted, you will receive a notice to schedule your exam appointment via email. Follow the instructions and select live remote proctoring. You will be directed to ProctorU where you will set up a profile and schedule your virtual exam. When you select remote proctoring, you will have the option of running a system check to confirm your computer meets these technical requirements.

Afterwards, you will receive two confirmation emails: one from Meazure Learning that includes the password you will need to access the exam and another from ProctorU with a link to initiate the exam appointment.

3. Set up remote testing on exam day

Before the start of the exam, you will be asked to scan the room with your webcam to show that you are alone and the area around you is clear. Your webcam and microphone must remain on for the duration of the examination. We recommend you make arrangements to be in a private, quiet area and remain uninterpreted throughout the exam. If another person enters the area or there appears to be another disruption, the exam will end.

Many of us are concerned about our safety and that of our patients and families, and you may be looking for ways to decrease risk of COVID-19 exposure that some travel and shared spaces may have. Live remote testing is a good option for you if your local testing center is unavailable or if your schedule does not allow time away from work to go to a testing center. 

If you select the remote testing option while you're scheduling your exam, you'll have the option to run a system readiness check to ensure your device meets the technical requirements needed to run the virtual exam successfully. Check your system readiness now.
